Lost Buoy Sangiovese

Winemaker Phil Christiansen sourced one hectare of the fruit for this wine from Ross McMurtrie on McMurtrie Road, McLaren Vale. Being at the foot of the range, it provides warm summer days and cool nights and is the perfect Meditteranean climate for this Italian varietal. 2016 was one of the earliest vintages on record, due to a dry spring but a good soaking of rain in mid January which gave this wine a rich and earthy bouquet. Quite savoury and spicy with flavours of plum and a hint of vanilla and dark chocolate… drink over the next 3-4 years with a gourmet pizza.
