Dear Wine Lover,
It has been a busy few months since our last newsletter, inclusive of taking a short break in China. It was certainly a very interesting trip to see some famous spots, although it was a lot harder to find some quality Australian wine than I had expected.
It certainly goes to show how spoilt we are for choice here!
Speaking of quality wines, we still have some of the Gold Medal winning Prestige Wine 6 packs available at $90, as well as a brand new mixed dozen showcasing some different South Australian wine styles and regions.
In our latest mix, we have included four excellent wines from Kilikanoon Wines which has received high praise from some of the world’s most respected wine critics. James Halliday’s Australian Wine
Companion named Kilikanoon ‘Winery of the Year’ in 2013 and in 2014 winemaker and owner Kevin Mitchell was inducted into the inaugural Clare Valley Hall of Fame as Winemaker of the Year. There are also three wines from the family owned Maxwell of McLaren Vale stable, who are most famous as a large producer of Mead and have also been making some excellent table wines since 1979.
Kilikanoon Riesling 2016: Silver Medal, International Wine Challenge and Clare Wine Show
Kilikanoon Skilly Valley Pinot Gris 2016: Cool climate Pinot Gris from the Skillogalee Valley
Aramis Gruner Veltliner 2015: An Austrian grape variety… apple flavours and mineral tones
Maxwell Spiced Mead N/V: The ancient honey recipe and perfect winter warmer… Drink warm
Mount Jagged Bare Twig SSB 2014: A nice crisp blend from the Fleurieu Peninsula area
Fox Creek Chardonnay 2015: A lovely complex barrel fermented Chardonnay… drink to 2022
Kilikanoon GSM 2015: Silver Medal, International Wine Challenge
Kilikanoon Cab Sauv 2015: Silver Medal, International Wine Challenge
Maxwell Silver Hammer Shiraz 2015: Rich full bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz, cellar to 2025
Maxwell Little Demon Cab Merlot 2015: A smooth blend of 80% Cabernet and 20% Merlot
Tanunda Hill Barossa Shiraz 2015: Trophy, Decanter World Wine Awards 2014
St Magnus Pinot Noir 2016: A great value Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir… new to our range.
Full RRP of these wines is $245—our price is: Mixed, All Reds and All Whites: all at $215 per case.
There are also a few of the remaining Adelaide Wine Show Gold medal winners which we have slotted into our latest batch of Premium Mixed Dozens and with the end of the financial year fast approaching we have been combing the warehouse for some new wines to include in our Rats and Mice selections.
Mixed: $140, All Whites: $130 and All Reds: $150 per dozen.
And finally, if you are looking for some good everyday quaffers don’t forget our quality cleanskin range.
They are all sourced from well known local wineries and represent great value for money. The varieties we currently have available are listed online .
If there are any special requests for wines you would like to order that are not on the list, please give me a call anytime on 0421 211 211 .
Happy drinking!
