FEBRUARY 2019
Dear Wine Lover,
I hope you had a great festive season and managed to taste some of the wines from the most recent ‘Pick of the Adelaide Wine Show Dozen’ selection. We have sold out of a few of those wines, but the good news is that we can now offer a few alternatives which had not yet been released back in October when the wines were first chosen.
The trophy winning Grenache from St Johns Road is a standout in the reds, as is the Redbank ‘Sunday Morning’ Pinot Gris for the white drinkers. Both wines collected trophies in their respective classes and we still have limited stocks available of another trophy winner, which is the Sister’s Run ‘Cows Corner’ GSM blend. We have exchanged the Wicks Estate Sauvignon Blanc for another aromatic medal winner from the same class; replaced the Jacobs Creek with the Jim Barry Riesling which has Gold medals across three shows and added a lovely Dry Sangiovese Rosé from the King Valley Region (which was highly recommended at the Alternative Varieties Wine Show as well as the China Wine and Spirits awards) along with the very popular ‘Take it to the Grave’ Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills; all in all this is another excellent mixed dozen for all occasions.

If you would like some top quality everyday drinking, Prestige World Wines produce some excellent wines for a great price. We have a few cases on hand of their 2016 Carrot Block Barossa Valley Shiraz, which was made by trophy winning winemaker Ivan Limb. It is full bodied and shows lovely chocolate with sweet fruit flavours and we also stock their 2017 Crosswords Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, ….both ready to go at only $144 carton. There are also some very good cleanskins from the Brand Family vineyards which are all very good value and have always been popular with our regular buyers. Last but by no means least, highly acclaimed winemaker Mike Press makes some excellent wines from his Adelaide Hills vineyards and along with a few medal winners from last year, some of his range are included in our latest batch of Premium Dozens. Mixed: $199, All Reds: $210 and All Whites: $190. Also, don’t forget our ever reliable mixed packs of ‘Rats and Mice’ are also available at $140 per dozen…always a few surprises in every carton.
We have recently relocated our shopfront, and are now located at 293 Henley Beach Rd, Brooklyn Park, on the corner of Allen Avenue alongside Romeo’s IGA.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
